International Realist Painter

Joseph is a highly respected artist and teacher whose creative career spans four decades and two continents. Born in Zagreb, Yugoslavia -1952, migrated to Australia - 1970 where he continued his formal education at the Deakin University gaining a Diploma of Art in 1974 (majoring in Industrial Design). During this course he was introduced to the watercolour medium and began painting and achieving early success at local competitions, and has now become a highly sought-after and collectable artist for his works.
He is a traditional representational painter who has won over 200 major awards in watercolour landscape painting, making him foremost among watercolour artists in Australia as well as internationally. His awards include Winner of the coveted 'Camberwell Rotary Art Show' several times over.
He achieves a way of conveying his inspirational mood and intimacy through subtle and gentle effects of watercolour.
Joseph lives in Victoria, he is a member of the 'Australian Watercolour Institute'; the Victorian Artists Society and the Twenty Melbourne Painters.  He teaches at Charles Sturt University, Mitchell School of Creative Art.

He has held over 25 Solo Exhibitions as well as many group exhibitions since 1978. His paintings are represented in collections world-wide.
